About Us

The Universal Church of the Master, (UCM), by its name, recognizes and emphasizes not only the personal mastery that Jesus exhibited over His life and His physical environment, but also the remarkable spiritual gifts that He demonstrated during the three years of His public ministry. It is the position of UCM that this same mastery and these same remarkable spiritual gifts, with self-discipline and suitable training, can be and have been demonstrated by far lesser persons than Jesus Christ, the Great Master. For Jesus Himself said, "He that believeth in me, the works that I do shalt he do also; and greater works than these shall he do." [John 14:12]

The Four Gospels document many examples of mystical, adeptic and mediumistic powers that Jesus exhibited. Beyond clairvoyance and telepathy, Scriptures mention numerous instances of psychic and hands-on healing, psychic communication between worlds, physical materialization's and other occasions where Jesus employed His intrinsic powers. In the primitive Christian church, teachers and preachers were filled with the power of Spirit, doing many of the things Jesus had done: healing the sick, prophesying, seeing visions, communicating with Spiritual realms. In the course of time, as the Western church became more focused upon worldly power, personal manifestations of spiritual power became more and more discouraged, and the ideas and opinions of early church fathers became more and more crystallized into rigid dogma.

Down through the centuries, thousands of unfortunate sensitives were called witches or heretics, and tortured or killed for no other "crime" than that they could heal the sick, prophesize or exhibit other gifts of Spirit. It was not until humanity began to break away from the bonds of rigid ecclesiastical thinking, that ordinary people could openly begin to access, rediscover, learn, develop and practice their innate abilities that come with a deeper awareness and understanding of Spiritual Truth.

UCM was founded as a church in which members are encouraged to develop and exercise their spiritual powers. We discourage adherence to rigid dogmas and tenets, believing that each person must find and travel his/her own path in the Light, and that no single set of fixed rules is applicable to everyone in their spiritual quest.
From its earliest years, UCM has emphasized spiritual healing, prophecy and demonstrations of the continuity of life beyond the transition commonly called "death". As we move closer to world unity and a new age of Universal Brotherhood and Sisterhood, UCM is now placing greater attention upon training and developing the spiritual powers of its ministers to bring us into this new Golden Age.

Many of UCM's ordained ministers sponsor classes for women and men to become Ministerial Students. The students can elect to study for a Licentiate Minister's Certificate, which requires a minimum of one year of study. The Licentiate shall be certified to administer and perform Divine healing, to give counsel, inspirational and spiritual messages and instruction, and to teach the gospel of Christ and Universal Truth. The students may also become Ordained Ministers. This entails a minimum of two years of study. At completion, the student is entitled to perform all the duties of a licentiate minister, plus marriage ceremonies, christenings, baptism, funeral and memorial services.

"I love you, my brother, whoever you are - whether you worship in your church, kneel in your temple or pray in your mosque. You and I are children of One Faith, for the diverse paths of religion are fingers of the loving hand of One Supreme Being, and hand extended to all". -Kahlil Gibran
